Another one bites the dust...

I've said it before and I'll say it again...where did the month go!?!? I am definitely not complaining about September flying by, however, because OCTOBER is my absolute favorite month. ever.  I'm kind of obsessed...I mean what's not to love...cooler weather, changing leaves, cardigans, boots, and cute scarves, Halloween, pumpkin flavored everything, and last but not least, my bday :)

We had a busy but oh-so-fun September!  Makenzie's "play school" started up again and we are both very happy!   She loves playschool and I love some time to myself and missing each other for a couple hours is good for both of us!

We went to a Nationals game with our friends, Brian and Steph!  Makenzie (and Steph!) were in heaven because it was "Doggie Day" at the ballpark!  We love the "Normkins" and had so much fun with them, eating ballpark food, seeing all the doggies, and cheering on the Nats!
It was perfect day at the ball park!

Enjoying a beautiful DC day!

We were so excited that Jay and Steph were able to come visit us!  They were only here 2 days but we packed them in with lots of sight seeing and fun!

19 weeks to Baby Sister!

I can't believe I'm half way to holding another sweet baby girl!

18 weeks-  Finally only feeling nauseas for a couple hours a day!  I really only get nauseas if I don't eat breakfast right away and about an hour before dinner.  Its definitely something I can live with...well until February.   But the most exciting part about this week...the BIG ultrasound!  We took Makenzie with us so she could see the baby on the monitor and maybe it would make it a little more real for her.  She loved it!  She kept waving at the monitor and asking us to tell the baby to wave at her and talk to her.  I am always amazed at the details you can see through the ultrasounds!  We were able to see tiny toes and fingers, her covering her ears with her hands and she was sucking her thumb!  :)   She had her legs crossed and was sitting on them, not a good position to try and see some boy or girl parts!  After about 45 minutes she moved just enough to let us know she's a GIRL!!  Makenzie is so excited about her baby sister and she talks about her all the time!  We could not be more excited!!

20 weeks-  Totally in maternity clothes!  Weight gain at about 20 lbs.  I started boot camp up again and it feels great to be exercising!  I just don't have the energy to keep up with Makenzie all day so working out is really helping with that!  Getting up at 5:15am, however, it not ideal!   I am feeling her move very often!  She's not a big kicker, but is very active!  HALF WAY!

kind of a creepy...haha!

Makenzie

Sadly I haven't posted just about Makenzie in a really long time!

Well, here are the best words to describe her at 2 1/2 years:
Enthusiastic
Vocal
Funny
Sweet
Imaginative

We are really loving the stage that our girl is in right now!  She seriously makes us laugh every day with a new "funny twick" or catch phrase.  Enthusiastic is definitely the best way to describe her right now because she is so animated and enthused about even the smallest things.  It's contagious.  Anyone that comes in contact with her mentions this.  I love it!  Vocal- this.girl.can.talk.  When Jake comes home from work, he and I usually can't really get a word in until she's in bed.   She is always singing too!  Loves loves to sing!  She's obsessed with the popular song "Call me maybe"!  She knows the words and asks for it every time we get in the car.  You can always here her singing from her bed (when she's supposed to be asleep).  She loves to sing, I am a Child of God, Old Macdonald, Monkeys jumpin on the bed, You are my sunshine,  Twinkle twinkle and row, row your boat.  She loves giving big strong hugs.   Throughout the day she will very sweetly hug my leg and say "IIIIIIII love ya momma"   Her imagination, whoa her imagination!  Everything is "petend" this, or "petend" that.   It has been so interesting for me to watch her imagination just take off!  Her favorites are "ok mommy, you petend to be the mommy kitty and I petend to be the baby kitty, ok?"  And then she tells us exactly what to say and how to say it.  Funny story- while in Indy in Aug/Sept we got to watch my niece Kaley run in a few cross country meets, and since we've been home there is a lot of "i petend to be Kaley, ok mommy you say, Go Kaley! Run Kaley! Great Job Kaley!"  haha!

She is so excited about being a big sister and talks about "baby sister" all the time!

I had been keeping a list of funny quotes from Kenz for the past 6 months and sadly my phone died and I lost the list :(   I should've written them down but I always had my phone so it was easy to pull it out and type in whatever she had just said before I forgot it.  I have been trying to remember things for a journal but sadly I'm sure many will be forgotten.  However, here are few funny Makenzie-isms lately:

Everyday when Jake leaves for work "Daddy, don't foget anything at hoooome"
"But not an emergency"  (no clue where this came from, but it's hilarious when she says it)
"In the whole world?"  (never used it in the right context)
"Lets just check about that"
At the dinner table almost every night- "Ok everybody put your hands in, (she counts to 10), Gooooo team!"
"Mommy, I have a little belly ache, I pobably need some chocolate"
Me "I'm tired".  Makenzie "no you're not, you're tough"

A little Q & A we had with her at dinner September 15:
What's your favorite smell?  -"popcorn"
What do you love about Daddy?- "reading stories"
What's your favorite movie? - "Little Wascals"

Potty update-It's been 3 weeks and we've only had 2 accidents!  She has been so impressive!  She loves wearing her big girl underwear.  We put her in a pull-up for naps/bedtime but if she has to go before she falls asleep she will call for us and will not go in her diaper.  She also has woke up dry multiple mornings!  She definitely spoiled me!

Potty training...aka patience training

Last week I decided to dive head first into potty training.  It was the perfect week to do it with no big plans and rain in the forecast for the entire first day.  Makenzie has been ready for this for awhile but with all of our traveling and then my can't-get-off-the-couch-nausea, I kept putting it off, but the time had come!  So far things have been pretty easy...as far as the potty part goes.  The staying home part...now that was hard!

Day 1- we went straight to her "big girl undies"!  I knew that she wouldn't go if she was naked, so we skipped that and just slapped on the panties!  And that made it all the more exciting for her.  She had a great first day with zero accidents and even told me she had to go once or twice.  All the other times it was me asking her and she would tell me yes or no.  It was surprising how long she would go in between...at first I was hounding her every 20-30 minutes and then I realized I didn't need to do that with her.  We did about 2,326 crafts the first day and it was actually a really fun day at home!

Day 2- Decided to meet some friends at a park for a quick get-outside-and-run visit.  At first I was asking her a lot and then got busy chatting and forgot and she told me...as it was running down her leg....ooops!  I did have a change of clothes for her so we just changed and played a little more and than came back home.

Day 3- I decided it would not be good for our relationship to just stay home anymore....and then we all woke up sick :(  So much for getting out and playing.  Poor girl woke us up @ 5am on Thurs morning with a 103 temp.  So the day started out snuggling and watching movies, but after her nap you would never know she had ever had a fever or been sick!  She was running around and was her normal silly self, but we couldn't play with any friends so it was another day inside...just the 2 of us...

Day 4 and after-  We resumed our normal routine once the weekend rolled around.  She had done great and I knew she would be fine even if we were out and about.  We are now a week in and only had the one accident on day 2!!  We even went to a baseball game on Saturday!  At the game she did tell us 4 times that she had to go and only really went once....that was a little annoying, but she's doing a great job and we've been so proud of her!

Big girl panties and paper bag crafts!  :)

Oh yea....we're having a baby!!

Sunday, June 17-  I will probably figure out sometime later this week if I'm pregnant or not, so why not take one today and surprise Jake on Father's Day!?  Gave Jake a card from me and Makenzie and then his gifts and then told him I had one other present.  I gave him a card that just said "Happy Father's Day, I can't wait to meet you, love baby #2"  We both started crying (tears of joy)!   He was so excited!!   I'm only 4 weeks.

5 weeks-  already starting to feel nauseous :(  We told Mom and Dad Reynolds over Skype this week!  We had Makenzie put on a "BIG SISTER" shirt.

6 weeks- Told the Reynolds family in Park City!  We just had M walk around in her BIG SISTER shirt and slowly people started smiling until everyone had figured it out!  So nice to tell them since I wasn't feeling myself.

7 weeks- Started throwing up already :(   Told Mom and Dad Ingram in Utah this week!  Called the rest of the fam on the phone and had Makenzie tell them!

8 weeks- Very rough week for me.  Zero energy and throwing up a few times a day.  Having a hard time trying to take care of Makenzie and myself.  We are watching a lot of movies right now.  But we had our first Dr's appointment and got to see the little peanut with an ultrasound!

9 weeks- Makenzie spent the week with the O'Neils in CT.  We are missing her alot, but she's having fun with her cousins.  Such a blessing to have her there so that I can just rest and focus on feeling better.  I am starting to improve and my energy is slowly returning.  I get sick first thing every morning and at night.  The middle of the day is my best time.
I can't get enough peaches, cranberry juice, oranges, cereal, and buffalo chicken pizza :)
won't be able to eat for awhile- Cafe Rio :(  and cannot drink water, gag!

10 weeks- Mom came and stayed with us!  So nice having the help still!  Still improving little by little, only getting sick 1-2 times/day.

12 weeks-  Heard a strong heartbeat at the Dr's office today!  Haven't gotten sick for an entire week!!  I even walked a mile and ran 1/2 mile! It felt great! Still feeling very nauseous but can keep it under control with eating.  I go to bed really early every night just bc i'm feeling so nauseous.  Only fit comfortably in a few pants.
I love oranges (have about 3 a day), cereal, goldfish, bbq baked lays, ice cream, rice, and hot pockets (weird?)
do not like chocolate....(whats up with that??)

13 weeks- Had another ultrasound where I got to see a very detailed little body!  I saw it kick a few times on the screen!  Also, made our new public this week!

16 weeks- feeling much better!  Only mild nausea throughout the day.  Felt teeny tiny baby kicks this week!!  Heard a strong heartbeat (130) at an appointment!  Ran/walked 2 miles, twice this week!  Feels really good to exercise!
I love apples, bananas, strawberries, water, and cereal.
