Makenzie Dawn Reynolds

First of all...sorry it has taken us so long to post pictures and details of our little girls big day- we've been a little busy! :)

It all started Tuesday, Feb 16th, @ 11pm- Jake and I were laying in bed watching the Olympics and getting ready for bed. I had this sudden and sharp pain that was so intense I had no idea what was happening...and then less than 10 minutes later another one...oh no...contractions! Because they were so intense and already so close together, Jake and I knew it was time! We started timing the contractions and by 1am they were about 4-6 minutes apart and so strong. We called my Dr and he said I had to wait until they were 3 min apart before going to the hospital...AHHH!!! By this point, I was SO tired from not sleeping and the contractions, in SO much pain, and getting SO scared knowing it was only a matter of time. Luckily, from 1-2am my contractions were exactly 3 min apart and we headed to the hospital. By 2:30am we were in a room and I had my blessed epidural by about 3:30am. At about 5:10, I was ready to push and our little girl was born @ 6:08am. I was so blessed to have a quick delivery and no complications. As soon as she was born they took her and cleaned her up and weighed and measured her. They didn't give her to me for about 15 minutes while the Dr. was stitching me up (sorry TMI). Jake and I immediately just hugged each other and cried for about 5 minutes and then he went over to where she was and was telling me all the info.
---
I can't even describe the feelings that were felt at that moment. I still can't think about it without crying. I have never felt closer to Jake. He had been my strength the entire time. I had a few breakdowns during labor, feeling I couldn't keep going and that I wasn't strong enough to do it and he was so encouraging and so strong and so positive the whole time. He was amazing!

9 months pregnant is SO overrated!

One week until my due date...the date that I thought would never come...the date that doesn't really exist. I am 39 weeks today and SO OVER being preggo! It's so hard just trying to be patient! Jake and I give her a pep talk every night but she doesn't seem to be ready yet, I guess. Baby, whenever you are ready, we'll be waiting!
39 weeks
Jake is so impressed!

A few weeks ago, my sis-in-law Lisa had a baby shower for me! It was so much fun being with friends! Lisa sure knows how to throw a party! All the decorations were so cute and the treats were delicious!

LOTS of snow and NO baby...

This past Wednesday, we were hammered with about 13 inches of snow!! It was so awesome because everything was shut down! Jake had a snow day at work! Snow days as an adult is as good as it gets!! We slept in, made chocolate chip pancakes, and then had a productive and lazy day!! We were able to get SO much done around the house and then relax as well!! We were both in heaven!
---
Unfortunately, that night, we had to venture out into the blizzard and go to the hospital. I hadn't been feeling Baby move and my Dr had us go to the hospital to be monitored. It was the worst night- until we were able to hear the heartbeat. We were trying to hurry to the hospital and then couldn't get our car out! It was a little stressful to say the least! Luckily, our other car got out with no problem. We were monitored for about 30 min and everything looked good, so now we are just waiting....waiting....waiting.... We are both SO ready! After our trip to the hospital we came home and packed our bags! Hospital bags- check. Baby clothes washed- check. Nursery ready- check. Dad ready- check. Mom ready- check. Baby....Baby...Beuler....

Jake's Surprise Birthday Bash!

Last Friday, Jake celebrated his 26th birthday! We had such a fun weekend together and I pulled off my first ever surprise birthday party! On Friday (his actual bday) we had french toast for breakfast in bed and then kept it low key that night with dinner at our favorite pizza spot in town and a movie!
Saturday we went shopping for Baby and finished up all the last minute items we needed! We both just love shopping for her! :) That night we went into the city for dinner at Gyu-Kaku. It's a Japenese Barbecue style restaurant where you cook your food on the grill at your table! It was not only a really fun restaurant but the food was A-MAZING!!! After dinner we headed to our next stop...the NY Rangers game!!! Jake knew all the plans to this point. He knew we were going to the game (His one request!) However, he had NO IDEA that I had invited 16 of our close friends to join us for the game!!!! They were all waiting in the suite when we arrived! Jake was so surprised and so excited!!! We had so much fun with everyone and it was a GREAT win!!! After the game, the whole group got to go on the ice for pictures! Thanks to Scotty & Lisa for the awesome hookups and help pulling it all off!!!!!
S'mores for dessert = Jake's FAV! (He even ordered extra and I couldn't tell him that we would have more food and Birthday cake in the suite in about an hour!)
View of the citay from our table
Everyone patiently waiting for the Birthday boy to arrive!

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The whole gang in the suite
On the ice after the game!

A tribute to my Baby Daddy

As we near the end of my pregnancy, it would be wrong for me not to write a post dedicated to the greatness that is my husband! I am now 37 weeks, and large and not lovin it and without his sweet random acts of kindness, I would be a mess!! Everynight when I crawl into bed (crawl? can a whale crawl?) I am greated with a back, leg, or foot massage!!! Without even having to ask!!!! Followed by a few words with his baby girl, which always put a smile on my face! He is constantly asking "Do you need anything", "how is baby doing", "how are you feeling", etc! It's funny how no one tells you how hard pregnancy really is/can be. Probably because those people already have there babies and know that the end result is completely worth it! But, pregnancy has been SO much harder than I ever thought and it would have been a pretty rough 9 months if it weren't my wonderful Jake! They don't call you the best for nothin! :)

And even though you LOVE taking pictures like this....
I know you really feel like this.....
